Ready to use out of the box, the Cosman Marking Gauge features an extremely sharp blade that will slice (not crush) through the wood fibers leaving a clean, crisp line. Ideal for marking dovetails, tenons or just a cut line, the head has a hard rubber o-ring embedded inside to provide just the right amount of friction allowing you to make those finite adjustments efficiently. A generous flat side on the brass head prevents the tool from rolling off the bench preventing possible damage. 5" maximum marking length.
